Almost Home General, a New Jersey-based brand of cafes, coffeehouses, and coffee carts, has officially opened its new café at 351 Marin in the heart of downtown Jersey City. The 1,000-square-foot café, located at the corner of Marin Boulevard and Bay Street, is designed to be a dynamic hub for coffee, culture, and conversation, accessible from both the street and the building’s lobby.
This marks the second collaboration between Almost Home General and Jersey City-based KRE Group, following the success of The Café at Journal Squared. Similar to its predecessor, the new location at 351 Marin connects directly to the building’s lobby, offering residents a convenient and vibrant new amenity.
The café features a wide array of offerings, including premium single-origin coffees that rotate based on harvest, and a full menu of fresh pastries, breakfast, and lunch items. The menu is interactive, with customer suggestions often inspiring new favorites like the Key Lime Latte. For those seeking unique and playful drinks, the café offers creative espresso-based concoctions like the Cereal Latte and smoked drinks such as the S’mores Latte and the Old Fashioned Cold Brew.
Almost Home General at 351 Marin offers a relaxed atmosphere with lounge seating and plenty of natural light. Its collapsible storefront doors open to outdoor seating, creating an al fresco experience that overlooks the public plaza’s elevated garden beds and water fountains.
“We are thrilled to partner with KRE Group for a second time as we work together to set the standard for amazing local brands opening in residential lobby settings,” Robert Doran, the founder of Almost Home General said. He emphasized the brand’s commitment to being a true asset to the community and contributing to the area’s unique coffee culture.
Jonathan Kushner, president of KRE Group, also expressed his enthusiasm.
“We love partnering with local businesses that engage our residents, enhance our shared spaces, and deliver something special to the community. With a longstanding commitment to community and connection, and a thriving location inside of our Journal Squared building, Almost Home is the perfect fit for 351 Marin,” he said.
The café is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with food and drink delivery also available. It complements the extensive amenities at 351 Marin, a luxury 38-story rental building that opened in 2022 and features a Sky Lounge, a 24-hour fitness center, a resort-style pool, and a community garden.
