Crum & Forster (C&F) is celebrating the recognition of Anne Ellis, vice president of marketing, who has been named to Ragan Communications’ Top Women in Marketing awards class of 2025.
The annual awards honor leaders and changemakers who elevate the marketing profession through innovation, strategy, and results-driven work. Ellis will be formally celebrated at an event in New York City on Oct. 22.
Transformation and Strategic Growth
Since joining C&F in 2022, Ellis has been instrumental in transforming the company’s marketing operations. She successfully shifted the function from a limited tactical role to a strategic, data-driven team focused on driving visibility, engagement, and growth across all business lines.
Under her leadership, the marketing team has developed comprehensive multimedia campaigns, established an in-house video capability, and implemented a digital asset management platform to streamline content creation.
“Anne is a marketing leader who combines creative thinking with a strong business mindset,” Hallie Harenski, senior vice president, Marketing & Communication at Crum & Forster, said. “She built our marketing function from the ground up and transformed it into a strategic driver of growth and innovation. Her leadership has enhanced C&F’s reputation for excellence.”
Cyber campaign success
One of Ellis’s most notable achievements was spearheading the “We Make Cyber Simpler” and “Better Cyber Outcomes” campaigns. This cross-platform initiative was designed to clarify C&F’s cyber insurance value proposition for agents, brokers, and customers.
The campaign saw impressive results, achieving an 88% increase in engagement on C&F’s cyber web pages. Furthermore, the associated social media posts averaged more than 2,200 likes, and related email campaigns generated over 13% of all web traffic.
“I’m truly flattered to be recognized among such an inspiring group of women in marketing,” Ellis said. “This honor reflects the hard work and creativity of the entire C&F Marketing & Communications team. Together, we’ve built a foundation that connects our products, people, and purpose in new and meaningful ways.”
Ellis brings over four decades of marketing experience within the insurance sector to C&F. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College and a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
