Sergio Goycochea, Mario Kempes, Carlos Valderrama, Juan Pablo Sorin, René Higuita, and Óscar Córdoba, along with a special appearance from Maradona’s son Diego “Fernando” Maradona.
What better way to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Diego Maradona’s birth than with a soccer exhibition featuring some legends of the game.
American Dream Mall in East Rutherford will do just that on Oct. 30, when it hosts a match at The Rink at the Arena — the indoor sports space where the venue previously has hosted basketball, football and hockey events.
The legends game is part of a two-day (Oct. 30-31) celebration to celebrate the upcoming opening of the Soccer Factory – an immersive experience honoring the rich culture of Argentine soccer. (There will be a meet-and-greet with the players on Oct. 31).
“American Dream has become a global destination for soccer fans of all ages, and we’re proud to continue building that legacy as we look ahead to World Cup ’26,” Chief Marketing Officer Adam Petrick said.
“It’s a true privilege to host these soccer icons for a friendly exhibition and open an exhibit that honors one of the greatest footballers of all time. This is just the beginning of many world-class soccer experiences and events coming to American Dream.”
Fans will have the unique opportunity to watch these iconic players take the field once again, showcasing the skills and flair that made them legends around the world.
In addition to the match, the two-day event will include fan interactions, photo opportunities, and legends dinners, providing an all-encompassing experience for soccer enthusiasts of every age.
Tickets to the match start at $25, with free admission for children under 6. Premium tickets are also available and include an exclusive meet-and-greet before the game.
The event celebrates the upcoming opening of Soccer Factory, an immersive exhibition honoring the legendary Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona. The attraction will feature interactive installations, rare memorabilia, championship trophies, and personal tributes that bring his story to life. Guests can explore recreated spaces such as Maradona’s childhood home and memorial, enjoy 3D experiences, sample his favorite dishes, and even test their own soccer skills. Soccer Factory is anticipated to open later this year.
American Dream proved itself to be a host for soccer events during the recent Club World Cup and Copa America.
