Branchville-based Selective Insurance Group, Inc. on Wednesday announced the appointment of Julie Parsons as an independent director to its board, effective Nov. 3. This addition brings the board’s composition to 12 directors, with 11 serving independently.
Parsons joins Selective following a successful 30-plus-year career at Allstate Corporation. She is a seasoned insurance executive whose background is rooted in product development, digital transformation, and customer service.
In her most recent role at Allstate, Parsons served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Property and Liability Insurance, where she managed a global team and was responsible for transforming both personal auto and homeowners insurance operations, in addition to leading business insurance and brokerage operations.
Her career began as an actuarial analyst, and she rose through the ranks to become Allstate’s first vice president, chief actuary and executive vice president of Product Operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Purdue University.
Selective’s leadership highlighted Parsons’s diverse and deep experience as a key asset for the company’s future growth.
