Whitehouse Station-based Chubb, a leader in insurance, on Thursday announced the appointment of Bill Hazelton as chief operating officer (COO), North America Field Operations. In this role, Hazelton will oversee the delivery of Chubb’s extensive portfolio of personal and commercial insurance products through its vast network of 48 branch offices across North America.
Reporting to Chris Maleno, senior vice president, Chubb Group, Hazelton’s primary job will be to assist in the day-to-day management of North America Field Operations with a specific focus on strategic growth and distribution management.
Key areas of responsibility include:

Deepening Relationships: Nurturing Chubb’s longstanding relationships with top trading partners, agents, and brokers.

Business Development: Overseeing national distribution management and driving business development initiatives.

Strategic Alignment: Ensuring alignment with strategic goals across all business segments, including the Chubb Insurance Solutions Agency Inc.

Hazelton brings over three decades of extensive industry experience spanning underwriting, claims, and distribution partner management. He most recently served as executive vice president & president of North America Insurance for Everest Group, Ltd.
This appointment marks a return to Chubb for Hazelton, who previously spent more than 18 years with the company. During his prior tenure, he held a variety of senior roles, including head of North America Industry Practices, head of North America Claims, and leadership positions within the Real Estate & Hospitality, Construction, Environmental, and Excess Casualty business units.
Maleno added that he looks forward to working with Hazelton again as he “leverages his expertise to manage and grow our distribution network and maintain Chubb’s top position in North America.”
