U.S. News & World Report recently recognized three Virtua Health hospitals as “High-Performing” for Maternity Care in its 2026 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care report. This designation is the highest award a hospital can achieve in the category.
The honored hospitals are Virtua Voorhees, Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes, and Virtua Mount Holly Hospitals.
This marks the fifth annual edition of the study, which evaluates hospitals nationwide on detailed measures of maternity care quality. For the 2026 rankings, approximately 900 hospitals participated, with the ratings designed to help expectant parents make informed decisions about their labor and delivery services.
All three Virtua hospitals earned the top designation based on key quality measures, including:
- C-section rates among lower-risk pregnancies.
- Rates of severe, unexpected newborn complications.
- Exclusive breast milk feeding rates.
- Adoption of birthing-friendly practices.
Dr. Nicole Lamborne, vice president of Clinical Operations for Virtua Women’s & Children’s Services, praised the dedicated team. “Being named a High Performing hospital for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report affirms Virtua Health’s unwavering commitment to mothers, babies, and families across South Jersey,” she said.
Lamborne added that the recognition reflects the dedication of the entire care team—physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and staff—who provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care every day. The health system remains focused on advancing services that support “healthy beginnings and lasting wellness.”
