JetBlue and United Airlines have officially launched the next phase of their “Blue Sky” collaboration, allowing customers to book flights on either airline’s website or mobile app using cash, points, or miles.
The move marks a major shift for the two carriers, integrating JetBlue’s heavy leisure footprint in the Northeast and Caribbean with United’s massive global network.
Starting this week, travelers searching for flights on JetBlue.com or United.com will see eligible itineraries from both carriers. This “one-stop-shop” approach simplifies travel planning, particularly for JetBlue customers looking to access United’s destinations in Asia, Africa, and Europe, and United customers seeking JetBlue’s popular leisure routes.
“With cash bookings now available, Blue Sky is making it even easier for customers to plan and purchase travel across two leading networks,” Andrew Nocella, EVP and chief commercial officer at United said.
The integration extends beyond flight-only bookings. JetBlue Vacations now includes United flights as part of its “Flight + Hotel” packages. This update unlocks new “bucket-list” travel options for JetBlue customers, including destinations like Japan, Brazil, Italy and Greece.
While revenue booking is the latest milestone, the airlines have outlined a busy roadmap for the remainder of 2026 and beyond:
-
Reciprocal Loyalty Perks (Spring 2026): Status members (Mosaic and Premier) can expect priority boarding, preferred/extra-legroom seating, and same-day standby/flight changes when flying the partner airline.
-
Unified Vacation Platforms (Late 2026): United’s MileagePlus Travel will transition to Paisly, JetBlue’s travel services platform, to offer a streamlined experience for booking hotels, cars, and cruises.
-
United’s Return to JFK (2027): In a strategic move, JetBlue will provide United with slots for up to seven daily roundtrips at JFK’s new Terminal 6, facilitating United’s planned growth at the major New York hub.
