The County College of Morris (CCM) Foundation is entering the next phase of its ambitious health care expansion with a new $150,000 grant from the Gilead Foundation.
The funding is earmarked for the college’s upcoming Center for Health Professions, a massive 80,000-square-foot facility currently under construction on the Randolph campus. The grant from the philanthropic arm of Gilead Sciences Inc. will be used to outfit the center with state-of-the-art medical technology and equipment, ensuring students train on the same systems used in the world’s leading hospitals.
Slated to open in winter 2027, the Center for Health Professions is CCM’s answer to the critical national shortage of health care workers. The facility will serve as a high-tech training ground for roughly 1,500 students annually, featuring laboratories that simulate real-world medical and dental environments.
“The Gilead Foundation funding will significantly enhance our Center for Health Professions and propel our efforts to deliver exceptional education,” Anthony Iacono, president of CCM said. “We are honored and grateful to be a beneficiary of Gilead Foundation’s philanthropy.”
The grant aligns with the Gilead Foundation’s mission to build a more equitable and thriving health ecosystem. By supporting local educational institutions, the foundation aims to diversify and strengthen the pipeline of future health care professionals.
“This grant reflects our commitment to building healthier communities by expanding access to high-quality training,” Jane Stafford, president of the Gilead Foundation said. “We are excited about the opportunities this center will create for students, faculty, and the broader community.”
The Gilead grant is the latest in a wave of major investments for the center. Earlier this month, the CCM Foundation announced a record-breaking $1 million grant from the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation to launch new dental hygiene and assisting programs within the facility.
