Chinese tea trailblazer HEYTEA set to make debut at Westfield Garden State Plaza

The global “new-style tea” revolution is arriving in North Jersey. HEYTEA, the trendsetting Chinese brand credited with inventing the world’s first cheese tea, will officially open its doors at Westfield Garden State Plaza on March 5.

Located on Level 2 in the vibrant Restaurant District near E.A.K Ramen, the new outpost marks a significant expansion for the brand as it brings its “Zen and inspiration” philosophy to one of the most visited shopping destinations in the United States.

Founded in 2012 in a small alley in Jiangmen, China, HEYTEA has grown from a local startup into a global phenomenon with over 4,000 locations worldwide. The brand is best known for its “Cheese Tea”—a high-quality cold tea topped with a signature layer of lightly salted cream-cheese foam.

Unlike traditional bubble tea shops that often rely on powders and artificial syrups, HEYTEA’s “New-Style Tea” commitment centers on real tea, real milk, real fruit, and real sugar.

Fan-Favorite Menu Highlights:

  • Grape Bloom: A refreshing blend featuring real grapes and premium tea.
  • Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea: A decadent classic with slow-cooked pearls.
  • Cloud Mango: A vibrant, fruit-forward seasonal favorite.
  • Triple Supreme Matcha Latte: A rich, multi-layered green tea experience.

To mark its Paramus arrival, HEYTEA is launching a massive 18-day promotional campaign featuring exclusive New Jersey-themed gifts:

  • March 5 – 7 (Days 1-3): Buy One, Get One (BOGO) offers on select beverages. Guests who complete a social media check-in can receive a New Jersey-exclusive fridge magnet (limited to 600 per day).

  • March 8 – 14 (Days 4-10): “Draw your moment of inspiration” in-store to win a free designated drink (limited to 100 per day).

  • March 15 – 22 (Days 11-18): Receive a free HEYTEA canvas bag with any purchase, featuring an exclusive stamp design (limited to 50 per day).

The opening is part of HEYTEA’s aggressive North American expansion, which began with a flagship on Broadway in New York City in late 2023. The brand now operates 41 stores across major U.S. hubs including Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston.

“HEYTEA’s arrival underscores our commitment to bringing fresh, trend-forward dining experiences to Westfield Garden State Plaza,” Sue Newsom, vice president of Center Management said.

The new tea house joins a growing roster of high-end Asian culinary options at the Plaza, including Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and E.A.K Ramen, further solidifying Level 2 as a hub for international flavors.
