Optimum shakes up N.J. broadband market with ‘25 for 5’ fiber deal

In a major move to capture the Garden State’s competitive internet market, Optimum announced Tuesday the launch of its “25 for 5” campaign. The initiative introduces a high-speed fiber internet tier starting at $25 per month, with a price guarantee that lasts for five full years.

The announcement comes as New Jersey residents increasingly seek relief from “promo-rate” fatigue—the common industry practice of offering a low initial price that spikes after 12 months.

The offer is centered on Optimum’s 300 Mbps fiber-optic service. Unlike traditional cable or 5G home internet, this fiber connection provides symmetrical speeds, meaning upload speeds are just as fast as download speeds—a critical feature for New Jersey’s large population of remote workers and gamers.

According to recent data from Ookla® Speedtest®, Optimum Fiber has been recognized as the fastest and most reliable internet service in both New York and New Jersey, outperforming major 5G home internet carriers in consistency and speed.

“People want fast internet they can rely on, without surprises,” said Mike Parker, President of Consumer Services at Optimum. “This offer delivers Optimum Fiber Internet at $25 a month—no gimmicks, no short-term promo—just reliable, high-speed fiber internet locked in for five years.”

While the $25 fiber rate is the headline, New Jersey consumers can stack additional discounts by integrating their home services. New customers who bundle Optimum Fiber with Optimum Mobile and Optimum TV can unlock up to $15 in additional monthly savings.

The “25 for 5” campaign is launching with a massive integrated media blitz across New Jersey, including:

  • Digital & Social: Music-driven short-form videos.
  • Out-of-Home: Billboards and transit placements throughout the state.
  • Audio: Targeted spots on local radio and streaming platforms.

The offer is currently available to new customers in Optimum’s New Jersey service areas. Residents looking to lock in their rates until 2031 can check availability at optimum.com/internet or by visiting any local Optimum retail store.
