IT industry veterans to bring Pickleball Kingdom to Woodbridge

The “Pickleball fever” sweeping across the Garden State is officially headed to Middlesex County. Pickleball Kingdom, currently the world’s largest indoor pickleball entity, announced Monday that it has awarded a new franchise to local entrepreneurs Vidya R. and Vicky K. to open a premier indoor facility in the Woodbridge area.

The expansion marks a significant acceleration for the brand in New Jersey, joining established clubs in Hamilton, Tinton Falls, Watchung and Hillsborough Township.

The new franchise owners bring a unique professional background to the venture, boasting over 40 years of combined leadership in the Information Technology sector. Vicky, a strategist in Analytics and AI, and Vidya, a veteran technologist and community advocate, intend to apply their “sports mix” philosophy—merging corporate precision with the agility of the court—to their new business.

“Bringing Pickleball Kingdom to our area is an opportunity to create a true community hub built around an accessible, fast-growing sport,” Vicky. said. “It will give people of all ages and skill levels a place to be active, learn, and connect.”

The Woodbridge facility aims to solve the common “Garden State” problem of unpredictable weather disrupting outdoor play. While the specific site selection is currently finalized, the club is slated to feature:

  • Climate-controlled indoor courts for professional-grade play 365 days a year.
  • Professional coaching and clinics tailored for all skill levels, from beginners to “pro-style” competitors.
  • Youth development programs and competitive leagues.
  • Lounge areas and event spaces designed for corporate team building and community social gatherings.

The move comes as indoor pickleball continues its trajectory as the fastest-growing sport in the United States. New Jersey, in particular, has become a primary growth market for the franchise due to its high population density and active suburban communities.

“New Jersey has proven to be a tremendous home for Pickleball Kingdom,” Ace Rodrigues, founder and CEO of Pickleball Kingdom said. “Vidya and Vicky embody everything we look for in a franchise partner, and we can’t wait to see the community they build.”

Rob Streett, president and chief global officer, added that the duo’s “passion for people” will ensure that players at every level feel at home in the new Woodbridge hub.
