Livingston-based CoreWeave, Inc., known as “The Essential Cloud for AI™,” announced Tuesday that it has been selected by Zonos to provide the high-performance infrastructure necessary for its cross-border commerce solutions. Zonos, a leader in international checkout technology, will leverage CoreWeave’s specialized cloud to run its AI-driven duty, tax, and compliance systems.
As global retail moves toward having AI agents autonomously handle complex tasks like duty calculations—the need for zero-latency infrastructure has become critical.
For retailers and national carriers like USPS and Canada Post, Zonos must calculate precise duties and taxes across dozens of countries in milliseconds. Any lag during the checkout process can lead to abandoned carts and lost revenue.
CoreWeave’s platform is purpose-built for these high-stakes inference workloads. Unlike general-purpose clouds, CoreWeave’s stack is optimized specifically for AI, allowing Zonos to:
- Reduce Latency: Deliver real-time tax and duty calculations at the point of purchase.
- Scale Globally: Support massive transaction volumes across various currencies and jurisdictions.
- Improve Reliability: Ensure “always-on” infrastructure for mission-critical compliance data.
“Global commerce depends on fast, reliable, and always-on infrastructure,” Andrew Spencer, chief technology officer of Zonos said. “By combining AI-driven automation with CoreWeave’s scalable global infrastructure, we’re solving the inherent complexity of cross-border commerce.”
Jon Jones, chief revenue officer of CoreWeave, emphasized the technical fit: “Zonos chose CoreWeave for its most latency-sensitive inference workloads because we provide the necessary speed and reliability at a massive scale.”
