About Us
Why can’t business news make you laugh?
Why can’t it surprise you?
Why can’t it actually be fun to read?
At BINJE, we don’t think business journalism has to be boring. In fact, we think the opposite — even our name is cool and clever.
Founded in the spring of 2025 by veteran business journalist Tom Bergeron and his wife, Lori Campos Bergeron, BINJE has quickly become New Jersey’s go-to source for business news: Who’s coming and who’s going, who’s hiring and who’s firing — and who’s making moves you didn’t see coming.
We deliver all the traditional reporting you expect. We break news (when the state cancels its World Cup Fan Fest — or when Horizon announces it is going to move its headquarters). We land exclusive interviews. And we lead the state in coverage of underserved communities, including the neurodiverse.
But BINJE was built to be different. Readers come to us expecting the unexpected.
We’ve explored why New Jersey still doesn’t have a Buc-ee’s, how a South Jersey town uses free chocolate as an economic development tool, and why one county created its own soda.
We’ve even tackled the burning question of the day (Should men still wear ties to business functions) and the burning question of the night (How did the governor end up rapping with Naughty by Nature at her inauguration ball).
And we’re doing it everywhere: on the homepage, in your inbox, across social media, at big events — and soon, on our own podcast.
Business news doesn’t have to be boring. We’ve been proving that since May 2025. And if you missed anything, don’t worry, you can catch up — everything we publish is designed to be BINJE-worthy.
