DIGroup Architecture names Covington director of business development for Philadelphia region

DIGroup Architecture (DIG), the New Brunswick-headquartered architecture and design firm, has announced the appointment of Anthony Covington as director of business development for the Philadelphia region.

The move signals a strategic push by the award-winning New Jersey firm to strengthen its footprint across the Delaware Valley. Covington, a Philadelphia native with deep roots in the regional AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry, will oversee relationship building and client partnerships throughout the greater Philadelphia market.

While Covington will be based in Pennsylvania, his appointment is a key component of DIG’s broader growth strategy. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) based in New Brunswick, DIG has built a formidable reputation in New Jersey for its work in the K-12, higher education, and healthcare sectors.

In his new role, Covington will support business development across these core areas, as well as senior living and civic spaces, bridging the firm’s New Jersey expertise with Philadelphia’s expanding development needs.

“Anthony’s deep roots in Philadelphia and his ability to build meaningful relationships across industries make him a tremendous asset to our team,” Vince Myers, president of DIGroup Architecture said. “His understanding of the local market and entrepreneurial approach will play a key role in advancing our growth strategy in the region.”

Covington brings a diverse professional background to the firm. His career began in the office furnishings sector, where he eventually launched his own company, Covington Furniture Solutions. He later served as a consultant for one of Philadelphia’s largest furniture providers and helped establish a Philadelphia office for a major New York-based dealer with significant New Jersey operations.

For the last nine years, Covington has focused exclusively on the architectural space.

“I’m excited to join DIG at a time of opportunity and growth,” Covington said. “This role feels like a new beginning—an entrepreneurial opportunity to build relationships, connect with the community and help expand DIG’s presence in a city I’ve always called home.”

Covington’s influence extends beyond his professional portfolio. He currently serves on the executive committee of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Mid-Atlantic Region and contributes to the Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) Philadelphia Chapter’s DE&I initiatives.

Formed in 2006, DIGroup Architecture continues to operate as a major player in the Northeast, with offices in New Brunswick, Philadelphia, and Queens. The firm is widely recognized for its integrated approach to architecture, interiors, and graphic design, specializing in complex projects that serve the public interest.
