Morey’s Piers unveils major renovations, new dining destination for 2026 season launch

Morey’s Piers is officially kicking off its 2026 season with a massive lineup of structural renovations, updated thrill rides, and a brand-new dining concept right on the boardwalk.

The Wildwood skyline has its center of gravity back. The iconic Giant Wheel has returned to its prominent position over the beach following an extensive winter refurbishment. While riders will have to wait until the weekend of May 29 to step into the gondolas, visitors flocking to the shore this weekend will be treated to a completely overhauled visual experience. A stunning new, state-of-the-art lighting package designed by EWorks Pro will debut its animated light shows starting Friday evening.

Down on the deck, thrill-seekers will welcome the high-speed return of The Great White wooden roller coaster. The legendary coaster underwent substantial offseason track upgrades to rectify years of salt-air wear. In a major partnership, Morey’s Piers teamed up with industry pioneer Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) to install several hundred feet of new track, promising riders a noticeably smoother, faster, and enhanced ride experience while preserving the classic wooden-coaster roar.

Food and beverage offerings on the pier are getting a sophisticated shake-up with the debut of Jack’s Bar, opening May 22, on Surfside Pier.

Occupying the former lower level of Joe’s Fish Co., Jack’s Bar introduces an upscale, carnival-inspired environment designed to mesh seamlessly with the frantic energy of the boardwalk. Park officials note that the space is not intended as a somber tribute, but rather a living reflection of late co-owner Jack Morey’s distinct vision: blending classic jersey shore boardwalk nostalgia with contemporary, elevated dining options.

The venue features customized photo opportunities, a vibrant cocktail program, and a curated menu meant to serve as a high-energy gathering place for families and adults alike.

While selective previews and the lighting of the Giant Wheel begin this weekend (May 22), full operational schedules and advanced tickets for the water parks and amusement piers can be found at the official Morey’s Piers website.
