A major new commercial and residential hub is officially underway in Passaic County. Prominent New Jersey developers Tulfra Real Estate and The Hampshire Companies recently gathered alongside local leaders to host a shovel-in-ground ceremony for High Mountain Promenade, a sprawling mixed-use destination located at 987 Belmont Avenue in North Haledon.
The newly launched development will bring a diverse mix of uses to a single, master-planned site, featuring a 90-unit luxury apartment community, a 4,400-square-foot retail center, and a large three-story, 596-unit self-storage facility.
The groundbreaking event drew an enthusiastic crowd of real estate professionals, business executives, and civic leaders. Key figures leading the ceremony included North Haledon Mayor Randy George, Tulfra Real Estate President and CEO Sonny Jumani, and The Hampshire Companies Chairman Jon Hanson.
“This is a great moment for Tulfra, our partners at The Hampshire Companies, and the Borough of North Haledon,” Sonny Jumani said during the ceremony. “After everything it took to get to this day, standing on this ground with a shovel feels really good. Through it all, Mayor Randy George supported us with his vision for what we’ve been trying to build here.”
Situated right along the Passaic and Bergen County border, the High Mountain Promenade site is strategically designed to tap into one of North Jersey’s most affluent, densely populated suburban corridors. Market studies reveal an immense immediate customer base:
- 1-Mile Radius: Approximately 68,500 local residents
- 3-Mile Radius: 150,699 regional residents
- 5-Mile Radius: 257,981 regional residents
The location is poised to pull steady traffic from several highly sought-after neighboring municipalities, including Wayne, Franklin Lakes, Ridgewood, Hawthorne, Midland Park, Wyckoff, and Prospect Park.
