In an aggressive push to secure a larger share of the local mid-market business banking sector, Truist Financial Corporation on Monday announced the appointment of New Jersey resident Lindsey Stampone as its new regional president for Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Stampone spent nearly two decades at Bank of America and most recently served as the New Jersey Market Executive for its Global Commercial Bank.
The move signals Truist’s determination to double down on its expansion throughout the Garden State and Pennsylvania. Over the past five years, the Charlotte-based top 10 commercial banking giant has aggressively scaled its local presence, leveraging targeted talent acquisition and middle-market client relationships to build a regional commercial loan and deposit portfolio that ranks among the largest of its 12 corporate regions.
“Lindsey’s leadership experience, client‑first mindset, and commitment to people make her an exceptional fit for Truist and for the Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets,” Jodie Hughes, head of Commercial Banking for Truist said.
In her new role, Stampone is tasked with defining Truist’s regional corporate strategy, accelerating middle-market lending, and expanding the firm’s commercial market share across both states. Her decades of experience in deploying treasury services, credit structures, and capital market solutions to middle-market and large corporate enterprises will serve as the engine for Truist’s localized corporate push.
“I’m excited to join Truist and to lead such a strong commercial and middle market banking team in Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” Stampone said. “This is an important growth market, and I look forward to partnering across Wholesale Banking to support our clients, invest in our teams, and make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.”
Stampone’s deep roots in the New Jersey community align with Truist’s goal of expanding its regional footprint. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the state’s largest anti-hunger organization, and resides in the state with her family.
Stampone succeeds Travis Rhodes, who recently transitioned south to take over as Regional President for Truist’s North Carolina West region.
