Continuing a push to expand its strategic advisory operations, commercial real estate services firm JLL has announced the appointment of Melissa Strickland, as senior vice president and New Jersey Workplace Strategy lead.
Strickland will operate full-time out of JLL’s Parsippany office. In her new capacity, she is tasked with advising corporate tenants on full-scale workplace strategies, employee alignment, space programming, and complex change management initiatives throughout the state.
Strickland enters the role with more than two decades of dedicated commercial architecture and interior design experience. Her expertise spans critical regional industries across New Jersey, including prominent legal, financial, tech and life sciences sectors.
The appointment comes at a time when major corporate occupiers are fundamentally shifting away from basic square-footage reduction toward highly customized workspace layouts designed around hybrid employee habits.
“Melissa’s passion for workplace strategy, combined with her deep technical expertise and long-standing client relationships, makes her an exceptional addition to our New Jersey team,” Tim Greiner, executive managing director at JLL, said. “Melissa will help our clients think beyond traditional tenant representation transactions and identify opportunities where workplace strategy can create meaningful value.”
Prior to her arrival at JLL, Strickland compiled a robust design pedigree at several of the world’s most recognized architectural and spatial consulting firms:
- HLW (New Jersey Practice): Served as Principal and Managing Director, directly overseeing the firm’s expanding Workplace sector.
- Gensler: Operated as a Senior Designer and Associate, engineering environments for multi-million-square-foot corporate headquarters.
- Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM): Began a portion of her early interior design portfolio.
