Brian Pfeifer, a veteran sales leader with more than three decades of work at the Star-Ledger and N.J. Advance Media, has joined BINJE, the media company announced.
Pfeifer, who will work in a freelance capacity, recently left N.J. Advanced Media — and found full-time retirement wasn’t for him.
BINJE Founder Tom Bergeron said the state’s leading business site was eager to join up with Pfeifer.
“Brian is the perfect part-time employee for us,” he said. “He’s seen it all — and he’s sold it all. We’re happy to add him to our growing list of contributors.”
BINJE recently celebrated its first anniversary.
Pfeifer said BINJE’s ability to quickly become the leader in the B2B space won him over.
“I love the BINJE story,” he said. “Part of what attracted me to this role is the team and its overall mission, which is to report on the news that’s important to its readers, but also to its advertisers.
“It’s a unique mixture of old school journalism principals with a modern eye to what matters to advertisers — a notion that fills a void in the New Jersey media scene.
“BINJE’s veteran journalists and business development team are the best in the business and understand the dynamics of the ever-changing media landscape. Not only do they preach the importance of a digital presence, but they understand that printed media still plays a key role.
“They’ve figured out that the two mediums still work together and that print is alive and kicking. And when you factor in the podcasts, newsletters and events, it’s clear that BINJE has found a formula for success, now and into the future.”
Pfiefer’s past will help us get there.
At the Ledger, he held various roles including Account Executive, Special Section Manager and National Advertising Director. As the National Ad Director, he oversaw a team that handled print and digital marketing.
Pfiefer feels the formula that worked then still works now.
“As the media landscape has changed over the past 35 years, one thing has proven constant — the importance of relationships,” he said. “I’m still in contact with clients and associates that I worked with in the 90’s. I look forward to forming these same relationships at BINJE.”
