John Herrington, president of Parsippany-based appliance provider Midea America Corporation (MAC), announced that he will step away from his role effective Sept. 30.
His successor has not been announced.
Herrington will serve as an advisor to MAC through the end of the year with plans to support the handoff to the next generation of MAC leadership.
Herrington has more than 42 years of experience in the home appliances and consumer electronics industry, including nearly three years spent transforming Midea into one of the fastest-growing appliance brands in the US.
During Herrington’s tenure, Midea has expanded its market presence across major and small appliances, home comfort, and floor care, and significantly expanded its customer base.
Midea America Corp. is a U.S. subsidiary of Midea Group, a Fortune 500 company, known for its innovative home appliances, from kitchen appliances to air conditioners, laundry, and floor care, according to a company release.
