Princeton-based CloudFrame, Inc. on Monday announced the appointment of Michael O’Donnell as its new chief executive officer and president. Bringing nearly three decades of experience in scaling business-to-business, venture-backed technology companies, O’Donnell will steer the Princeton-headquartered company through its next phase of commercial growth.
O’Donnell steps into the leadership role following the recent introduction of Continuum, CloudFrame’s runtime-verified mainframe modernization platform. Designed to help major enterprises in regulated sectors—such as healthcare and financial services—migrate mission-critical COBOL workloads to cloud-native Java, Continuum uses deterministic code generation based on verified runtime behavior rather than source-code inference.
O’Donnell’s executive background includes driving a successful NASDAQ initial public offering at Salon Media Group, alongside steering four strategic corporate acquisitions by major technology firms, including companies acquired by Cisco Systems, Citrix Systems, Gamefly, and GoodRx. He also serves as Chairman of NTRO Partners.
“We built Continuum to prove that mainframe modernization can run on evidence, not guesswork,” Venkat Pillay, founder of CloudFrame. “Michael has done that repeatedly across the industry, and he is the right person to lead CloudFrame’s next chapter.”
“AI has created new urgency around mainframe modernization, but speed alone is not enough when the stakes are this high,” added O’Donnell. “Continuum replaces guesswork with runtime insight, giving enterprises the confidence to move forward now.”
