Inspira Health officially launched its new electronic health record system, Epic, across its regional health network, marking a major milestone in advancing a more connected and streamlined care experience for patients and medical teams throughout South Jersey.
The comprehensive transition introduces MyChart, a secure online portal and mobile application that gives patients direct access to their health information. Through MyChart, patients can schedule appointments, review test results, and communicate securely with their care teams from home or on the go.
As a single, integrated platform, Epic unifies operations across Inspira’s hospitals and clinical locations while integrating the health system into Epic’s nationwide network. This interoperability allows clinicians to securely view a more complete picture of a patient’s medical history, even when care was received outside the Inspira network.
“Launching Epic is a transformational milestone for Inspira Health and the communities we serve,” Inspira Health Chief Executive Officer Amy Mansue, said. “This investment is about making health care easier to navigate, giving patients more control over their health information and equipping our care teams with tools that help them focus on delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care.”
From day one of the rollout, Inspira deployed more than 50 digital tools from Epic’s artificial intelligence and cognitive computing suite. These capabilities are designed to assist doctors and nurses by rapidly organizing clinical data, drafting notes, and utilizing predictive analytics to flag potential health risks early.
Health system leadership estimates that the streamlined digital platform will save tens of thousands of hours annually, significantly reducing administrative paperwork so care teams can spend more direct time with patients.
