High fashion comes to Bedminster: Monkee’s Boutique sets August grand opening

Shopping in the Somerset Hills is about to get a major style upgrade. Monkee’s, the nationally recognized women’s boutique brand, is officially planting its flag in the Garden State for the very first time.

Set to open its doors on Thursday, Aug. 13, Monkee’s of Somerset Hills at 2435 Lamington Road promises a hyper-curated retail experience tailored specifically to the lifestyles of local women.

The new boutique is a local labor of love spearheaded by owner Amanda Vittitoe. Drawing on an eclectic career spanning marketing, philanthropy, real estate, and interior design—coupled with deep ties to the local community—Vittitoe designed the shop to cater to women navigating busy, multifaceted lives. From school events and professional commitments to weekend getaways and evening dinners, the boutique aims to make getting dressed effortless and fun.

“The women of Somerset Hills have exceptional style, but they also lead full and varied lives,” Vittitoe said. “I wanted to create a store that understands that full life and makes getting dressed feel more enjoyable and a little easier.”

Shoppers can expect a carefully edited selection of designer clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories spanning a diverse range of price points. Beyond the racks, the boutique is built around high-touch, personalized service, offering expert styling appointments and community gatherings.

Grand opening celebration details

To mark its official arrival in New Jersey, Monkee’s of Somerset Hills is rolling out the red carpet for a festive opening weekend:

  • The Ribbon Cutting: Kicks off Thursday, Aug. 13, at 10:00 a.m. with Bedminster Mayor Lawrence F. Jacobs and Committeewoman Gina Lisa-Fernandez.
  • Opening Weekend Perks: Visitors throughout the weekend will enjoy opening-day gifts, light refreshments, and personal styling sessions.
  • Exclusive Trunk Show: The debut weekend will feature a special designer showcase from Mignonne Gavigan.

Founded in 1995, Monkee’s has expanded to more than 70 independently owned boutiques across the country. Because each location is locally owned, the merchandise and events are uniquely curated to reflect the individual personality of the community it serves.

For Vittitoe, opening the state’s flagship store in her own backyard is a dream come true. “This community shaped who I am, personally and professionally,” she shared. “My hope is that women come in because they are curious about the collection and return because they feel understood.”
