Saint Peter’s Family Health Center and The Market at Saint Peter’s have been honored as the 2026 Community Organization of the Year/Community Leaders of Distinction by the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedicated community service, and a lasting positive impact on the quality of life for residents throughout the region.
Located on How Lane in New Brunswick, the Family Health Center provides comprehensive, coordinated medical services for adults, children, and women, with an emphasis on expanding access to high-quality care for underserved and vulnerable populations. In 2025 alone, the Center recorded nearly 84,000 patient visits and recently wrapped up a major expansion designed to scale capacity up to 100,000 annual visits.
The facility offers a wide array of vital healthcare services and social support resources, including:
- Primary & Specialty Care: Dedicated adult and pediatric medical care.
- Women’s Health: Comprehensive OB/GYN and clinical services.
- Behavioral Health & Wellness: Integrated mental health services, diabetes care, and nutrition education.
- Specialized Care: Housing the Dorothy B. Hersh Regional Child Protection Center—one of only four state-designated child protection centers in New Jersey.
- Diagnostic & Social Support: Onsite laboratory services and screenings addressing social determinants of health.
A cornerstone of the Center’s holistic approach is The Market at Saint Peter’s, a client-choice, food-by-prescription program designed to combat food insecurity and improve chronic disease management. Serving approximately 80 eligible patients monthly, The Market provides access to fresh produce, nonperishable foods, and essential hygiene and baby care items like diapers and wipes.

The Chamber recognition arrives as the Family Health Center prepares to host its upcoming Back to School and Back to Work event on Aug. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 123 How Lane in New Brunswick. Open to all ages, the community event will feature children’s activities, school supply and backpack giveaways, local social service resources, and onsite career representatives discussing open job opportunities at Saint Peter’s.
