The Ilitch Companies have assumed full control of Ocean Casino Resort, finalizing a
transaction that cements the company’s spot in New Jersey’s gaming and hospitality market.
The transaction, made through OCR Investment, LLC and OCRM, LLC, was approved
Aug. 3 by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
N.J. Casino Control Commission Chairman James Plousis applauded the completed
deal.
“I commend the Ilitch Companies and its ownership, as well as the management and
team members at Ocean Casino Resort for their continued focus on Atlantic City and
providing a first-class experience,” he said. “Atlantic City has nine, unique world-class destinations and, with this investment, it will remain a tourism stronghold on the East Coast.”
During public hearings in September 2021 and July 2022, the Commission extensively
reviewed and granted qualification to the Ilitch companies in connection with their initial
acquisition of a 50% ownership interest in Ocean Casino Resort through OCR
Investment, LLC, OCRM, LLC and related entities.
Bruce Dall, president of Ocean Casino Resorts Management, and John Policicchio, vice
president, secretary and treasurer of Ocean Casino Resorts, testified on behalf of the
Ilitch Companies, expressing confidence in the property’s potential as a first-class
casino resort and in the strength of the Atlantic City market.
“The Ilitch Companies are well-known for their charitable activities and have become
good corporate neighbors in Atlantic City, like all the properties in town,” Plousis said.
“Ocean Casino Resort has made a positive impact with donations to many charities
throughout the region including No1Hungry in Egg Harbor City, Sister Jean’s Kitchen in Atlantic City, and Arc of Atlantic County.”
Plousis noted that in 2025 alone, Ocean reported more than $280,000 in total gifts to
more than a dozen area nonprofits.
