RWJ Barnabas Health was one of three systems to land two hospitals in the Top Ten of the prestigious U.S. News & World Report 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston each ranked No. 6 in New Jersey and No. 23 in the New York Metro Area.
It should be noted, a potential third RWJBH facility also was in the Top Ten. Englewood Hospital, which has signed a definitive agreement to merge with RWJBH, was ranked No. 5 overall.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and Rutgers Cancer Institute was recognized as a top 100 cancer program in the United States and a top ten program in the New York Metropolitan area. The program earned the new “silver badge” for its superior services and clinical outcomes, a designation that was introduced this year by U.S. News & World Report for Cancer and three other specialties.
This year, U.S. News & World Report announced its 2026-2027 Best Hospitals ratings after evaluating hospitals nationwide across 15 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions. Best Regional Hospitals demonstrated superior outcomes and excellence across a broad range of clinical services.
