Provident Financial Services announced Tuesday that is has appointed Michael Regan
to the boards of directors of the company and its subsidiary, Provident Bank.
The appointment was effective July 30.
Regan has more than 35 years of experience in financial regulation, most of it with the
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where he advised bank boards and executive
leadership teams on corporate governance, enterprise risk management, capital
adequacy, liquidity oversight and regulatory compliance.
As a senior bank examiner with the FDIC, Regan led safety and soundness
examinations for institutions ranging from $100 million to more than $100 billion in
assets. He presented examination findings to board audit and risk committees,
supervised examination teams, reviewed merger and acquisition applications, and
advised on governance, succession planning and executive compensation risk.
Provident Executive Chairman Chris Martin applauded the announcement.

Regan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Rider University.
Provident Financial Services is the holding company for Provident Bank, which has
operated in New Jersey since 1839 and now serves customers through branches in
New Jersey; Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania; and Orange,
Queens and Nassau counties in New York. The bank also offers fiduciary and wealth
management services through Beacon Trust Company and insurance services through
Provident Protection Plus.
