Clara Maass Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has officially received national accreditation under the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program.
The milestone highlights the medical center’s dedication to maintaining rigorous standards in cancer care, multidisciplinary coordination, and continuous clinical improvement across northern New Jersey.
The ACS Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients by setting high clinical standards. To achieve accreditation, programs undergo exhaustive evaluations assessing performance, compliance, diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and supportive care resources.
“Receiving our first Commission on Cancer accreditation is an important milestone for Clara Maass Medical Center and a testament to the dedication of our entire cancer care team,” Jordan Solop, chief operating officer at Clara Maass Medical Center, said. “This recognition reflects the collaborative, multidisciplinary approach our physicians, nurses and staff bring to caring for patients throughout every stage of their cancer journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality cancer care close to home.”
The achievement also marks a significant network-wide milestone for RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute—New Jersey’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

As a CoC-accredited institution, Clara Maass Medical Center additionally earns designation as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. This status signifies an institutional dedication to optimizing surgical procedures, minimizing complications, and adhering to the highest standards of patient safety.
