Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey (BBBSCNNJ) has opened registration for its 20th Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament. The charity event is scheduled for Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Main Street Beach in Manasquan.
For the past 20 years, the high-energy tournament has brought together local businesses, families, and friends to support youth mentorship, raising over $400,000 to date. Funds directly benefit BBBSCNNJ’s one-to-one mentoring programs, which match local children with dedicated adult mentors across ten New Jersey counties.
“When we started the tournament, we hoped it would become something that people would look forward to every year, but we never really knew how long it would last or how much it would grow,” Brian Higgins, former board of trustee and honoree, said. “Seeing what it has become and how many returning teams and supporters we have is something I’m really proud of.”
The tournament features competitive and recreational brackets designed for all skill levels, ensuring every registered team is guaranteed a minimum of three games. Participants receive breakfast, lunch, giveaways, and a shot at trophies and prizes.
- Fundraising goals: Set at $125 per adult participant and $100 per student participant.
- Key visual moments: Playoffs begin around 12:30 p.m., followed by awards at approximately 1:30 p.m.
