National healthcare, life sciences, and pharmacy law firm Frier Levitt has introduced a major milestone for its workforce, awarding every employee a special summer bonus following a period of strong growth and firmwide performance.
In a departure from traditional compensation models that isolate rewards within specific departments, the bonuses were distributed across the entire firm—spanning attorneys, paralegals, and professional and administrative staff. This marks the first time Frier Levitt has implemented a firmwide summer bonus program.
Key highlights of the program
- Firmwide inclusivity: Unlike programs restricted to legal staff, the summer bonuses extended to every single employee across the firm.
- Merit-driven recognition: While every employee received a bonus, individual award amounts reflected specific contributions to the firm’s success, including client service, productivity, thought leadership, and business development.
- Complementing year-end compensation: The summer payouts operate in addition to Frier Levitt’s regular year-end compensation schedule, serving as an extra layer of investment in talent retention and morale.
“Frier Levitt’s success is the result of contributions from people across the entire firm,” said Daniel Frier, founding partner of Frier Levitt said. “As the firm has grown, we felt it was important to share that success with the people who helped make it possible. This program reflects both our appreciation for those contributions and our continued investment in attracting and retaining exceptional talent.”
Co-founding Partner Jonathan Levitt emphasized the firm’s unique approach to workplace culture and meritocracy.
“We’ve never built Frier Levitt by simply following what other law firms are doing. We believe in a meritocracy built on fundamental fairness – rewarding people for their individual contributions while recognizing that our success is a collective effort. This summer bonus program reflects both of those principles,” he said.
Frier Levitt has scaled rapidly by focusing on highly regulated sectors, representing clients ranging from individual healthcare professionals and independent pharmacies to national organizations and Fortune 50 companies. As the firm expands its footprint nationally, leadership notes that sharing organizational success directly with its personnel is vital to maintaining the high-level expertise clients expect in complex regulatory landscapes.
