Ausperity Private Wealth has committed $25,000 to create a new scholarship fund at Rowan University’s School of Financial Planning, powered by and in partnership with Edelman Financial Engines.
The multi-year commitment will provide a $5,000 annual scholarship to a Rowan University student pursuing a major or minor in financial planning. Beyond financial assistance, the partnership aims to bridge the gap between academia and the wealth management industry through networking, mentorship, internships, and classroom engagement.
With the financial services industry facing a growing demand for qualified, client-focused professionals, industry leaders are prioritizing educational pipelines.
- Supporting future talent: The $5,000 annual scholarship makes careers in wealth management more accessible to talented students.
- Industry connection: The collaboration connects students directly with independent wealth management experts from Ausperity Private Wealth based in Moorestown, New Jersey.
- Addressing industry shortfalls: Ric Edelman, Founding Head of the School, noted that the nation urgently needs more trained financial planners, making industry partnerships crucial.
“At Ausperity, we believe the future of wealth management depends on developing professionals who understand that great financial advice is about much more than investments,” Rory O’Hara, founder and senior managing partner of Ausperity Private Wealth, said. “It’s about helping people make better decisions, achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives.”
The Rowan University School of Financial Planning is housed within the William G. Rohrer College of Business and backed by a $10 million donation from Edelman Financial Engines. The interdisciplinary curriculum covers everything from retirement planning and taxation to financial technology and estate planning.
Dr. Matthew Sarkees, Dean of the Rohrer College of Business, praised the partnership, emphasizing how direct industry support enriches the student experience. Ric Edelman also welcomed Ausperity as an early supporter, highlighting how firms help shape exceptional, fiduciary-minded advisors.
Ausperity’s investment joins a growing wave of corporate support designed to position Rowan University as a premier hub for financial planning education in the region.
