Jersey Mike’s marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month by deepening partnership with Best Buddies International

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Point Pleasant-based Jersey Mike’s Subs announced the launch of its nationwide October fundraising campaign in collaboration with Best Buddies International.

Marking the fourth consecutive year of their strategic alliance, the campaign invites customers across the country to support expanded employment and leadership opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), such as Autism and Down Syndrome.

Throughout October, customers ordering at participating Jersey Mike’s locations nationwide can easily contribute to the cause. Patrons have the opportunity to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar or make direct monetary donations in-store, through the mobile app, or via the company website.

Highlighting the company’s strong commitment to transparency and community giving, 100% of all customer donations will go directly to Best Buddies, and contributions are fully tax-deductible (note: third-party delivery orders are excluded).

“National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to recognize the value that people of all abilities bring to the workplace and our communities,” Charlie Morrison, chief executive officer of Jersey Mike’s said. “Giving back is a core value at Jersey Mike’s and we’re proud to continue our partnership with Best Buddies for another year and support its work to expand opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Since joining forces in 2023, Jersey Mike’s and Best Buddies have evolved their relationship far beyond traditional corporate philanthropy. Together, they have built tangible infrastructure—including structured candidate-matching processes, specialized staff training, and inclusive hiring practices—that has successfully integrated Best Buddies participants into local store teams across the country.

Anthony Shriver, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Best Buddies International, praised the sandwich franchise’s ongoing dedication:

“Jersey Mike’s has been an incredible partner and true champion of the Best Buddies mission. Together, we’ve opened doors to meaningful employment and given countless individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to thrive and make friends in the workplace.”

Founded in 1956 as a single neighborhood sub shop in Point Pleasant, Jersey Mike’s has since expanded into a dominant fast-casual brand with more than 3,300 locations nationwide. Despite its massive national footprint, the company continues to anchor its corporate ethos in local community impact, utilizing its scale to champion initiatives that foster equity and belonging.
