Hackensack Meridian Carrier Clinic is preparing to welcome community members, donors, and advocates for its annual Walk of Hope, scheduled for Oct. 17.
Held rain or shine on the clinic’s scenic Belle Mead campus, the signature event features a one-mile walking loop, live music, and family-friendly fall activities. Most importantly, all proceeds from the event go directly toward vital behavioral health and addiction treatment programs, supporting patients on their journeys to reclaim their lives.
Funds raised during the Walk of Hope will directly benefit specialized services at Carrier Clinic, a leading not-for-profit behavioral health provider in New Jersey. Specifically, proceeds will help support:
- The expansion of Carrier’s adolescent unit
- Specialized therapy initiatives, including pet, equine, and music therapy
- Essential language interpretation services to ensure equitable care access
“The Walk of Hope is an inspiring event that also serves as a catalyst to provide the support that our patients need and deserve,” Rohit Majahan, president and chief hospital executive at Carrier Clinic said. “The need continues to grow for comprehensive behavioral health services — particularly for adolescents and adults struggling with addiction and complex mental health conditions. We hope our family of donors and sponsors walk with us to support mental health care in our community!”
The event also supports the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation’s ambitious Be The Difference campaign. Launched in September 2024, the transformational fundraising effort focuses on four key pillars: enhancing patient care delivery, accelerating groundbreaking research, expanding healthcare access for all, and revolutionizing medical education and nursing.
“Philanthropy contributes to so many of our mental health initiatives,” Joyce Hendricks, president and chief development officer of the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, said. “Solving the growing mental health crisis is a team effort, and we hope the community will join us as we work to provide the best services possible for people in need.”
How to get involved
Registration to attend the walk is completely free. Participants who raise at least $50 will receive a commemorative event t-shirt. Supporters can also host independent fundraisers to rally friends and family.
