While headquartered across the Delaware River from the Garden State, the latest community resource initiative from the Philadelphia 76ers and Comcast brings critical digital equity and workforce training to the greater regional corridor, serving families and youth in the bi-state Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Located at 3890 North 10th Street within North10, Philadelphia—just miles from the New Jersey border—the newly unveiled technology and community hub is designed to bridge the digital divide for residents throughout the Delaware Valley, ensuring that regional communities have equal access to high-speed connectivity and career-readiness tools.
Regional partnership powers digital access
The state-of-the-art facility was established through a joint investment of more than $150,000 in facility upgrades, technology, and programming support from Comcast and the 76ers, supplemented by an additional $20,000 in programmatic funding announced at the opening.
The center provides visitors with robust technological resources, including:
- Free high-speed Xfinity WiFi for reliable connectivity
- Modern classrooms and gathering spaces equipped with digital displays
- New desktop computers and a dedicated laptop cart for digital learning and job-readiness programs
- Upgraded audiovisual systems to support interactive training
For the 76ers, whose fanbase spans across Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware, community investments are a key pillar of the organization’s regional footprint.
“Through our partnership with Comcast, we are investing in the next generation by helping youth and their families access educational resources, career development opportunities, and support systems at places like North10, Philadelphia,” Mike Goings, Vice President of Social Responsibility and Fan Development for the 76ers said. “Our passion for Philadelphia goes well beyond the buzzer. Together, we are empowering students to reach their full potential, using the lessons learned through sports to build confidence, character, and success…”
Comcast’s tri-state commitment
The project reinforces Comcast’s broader regional investment in digital equity across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the wider mid-Atlantic. Over the past three years, Comcast has invested nearly $3 billion across Pennsylvania alone to expand next-generation network infrastructure, improve broadband access, and support digital literacy initiatives in local communities.
“Strong communities are built when organizations come together to create opportunity,” Dan Bonelli, Regional Senior Vice President at Comcast said. “This space reflects the shared commitment… to expand access to the connectivity, skills, and resources that residents need to thrive — for generations to come.”
Supporting long-term opportunity
The hub is hosted by North10, Philadelphia, a community organization backed by the H. Chase Lenfest Foundation that focuses on education, housing stability, wellness, and workforce development across the Delaware Valley.
“This investment is not just about technology; it’s about creating a welcoming environment where residents can build their skills, prepare for careers, and access the resources they need to succeed,” Josh Klaris, executive director of North10 said.
