MikeWorldWide celebrates 40 years of independence with record 28% growth and $75M revenue milestone

Public relations powerhouse MikeWorldWide (MWW) is officially marking its 40th anniversary in a position of strength, projecting nearly $75 million in annual revenue for 2026 following a record-breaking 28% growth year.

Founded in 1986, MWW has evolved into one of the world’s largest independent public relations and communications firms. Today, the agency boasts a team of approximately 300 professionals operating across the U.S., EMEA, and Latin America.

The firm’s recent trajectory highlights a period of massive expansion. Over the past six years, MWW has nearly doubled its revenue, jumping from $38 million in 2020. This growth has been supercharged by strategic acquisitions—including Berk Communications in 2024 and organizational change specialist HudsonLake in 2026—alongside heavy investments in proprietary AI platforms like PRISMA and an international footprint spanning Europe and Latin America.

“Forty years means we have built something that lasts. It also means we have lived through enough change to know that what got us here will not automatically take us where we want to go,” Michael Kempner, founder and CEO of MikeWorldWide said. “We have reached a new level of scale at a moment when our industry is being reshaped. We have the capabilities to compete for the biggest assignments while retaining the independence and challenger mentality that got us here.”

As legacy holding companies consolidate and restructure, MWW has leveraged its single-P&L independent structure as a distinct operational advantage. By avoiding bureaucratic hurdles, the firm can mobilize capital swiftly, cross-pollinate talent across disciplines, and keep senior leadership intimately connected to clients.

This momentum has allowed MWW to secure major client wins and high-profile assignments across sectors, including FOX Sports, the NY/NJ FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Committee, the Big 12 Conference, Altria, Stanford Healthcare, and GXO Logistics. To support this scale, the agency has also recruited top-tier executive talent from major holding companies like Weber Shandwick and Edelman.

As MWW enters its fifth decade, Kempner emphasizes that the agency’s core philosophy remains unchanged despite its growing scale.

“Forty years ago, we were the challenger. We still are,” Kempner said. “There are plenty of agencies that can produce content, pitch a story or run a campaign. Our ambition is larger. We want to solve bigger business and reputation problems…”
