Joe DeCotiis, managing partner of DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, was recently named a recipient of the 2026 Bergen County Italian American Heritage Month Outstanding Community Service Award.
The recognition honors individuals whose leadership, dedication and commitment to service have made a meaningful and lasting impact throughout Bergen County.
DeCotiis, who has led the Paramus-based law firm his father founded in 1986, said he was humbled by the recognition.
“Being recognized by Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco is a meaningful honor because it celebrates not only my personal contributions, but also the rich heritage, values, and enduring contributions of the Italian American community to Bergen County,” DeCotiis said. “It is a reminder of the importance of preserving our traditions, serving our neighbors, and strengthening the communities we call home.”
DeCotiis became the firm’s sole managing partner in January, after serving as co-managing partner since 2008. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to his community and to making a positive difference in the lives of others
