CREDA NJ tackles corporate relocation pressures and advocacy strategies at Kenilworth panel

As corporate relocation decisions continue to spark debate over New Jersey’s business retention climate, CREDA New Jersey brought together nearly 65 commercial real estate leaders for a high-level discussion on the state’s economic landscape.

The dinner program, titled “NJ’s Corporate Relocation Crisis Through the Lens of CRE Leaders,” was held at the Galloping Hills Country Club in Kenilworth. The event featured expert insights from CREDA NJ CEO Dan Kennedy, SJP Properties COO Andrew Natale, and Cushman & Wakefield Executive Regional Director Peter Bronsnick, MSRE.

Addressing the drivers of corporate flight

Panelists dove into the complex factors driving companies to look outside New Jersey, examining how corporate location choices directly impact the state’s commercial real estate (CRE) sector. Key topics on the agenda included:

  • Evolving Tenant Demands: How changing workplace expectations and tenant preferences are reshaping commercial footprints.
  • Asset Modernization: Strategies for revitalizing aging and underutilized properties to keep pace with modern corporate requirements.
  • Financial and Policy Incentives: The impact of the state’s Aspire Program alongside broader financing and capital market challenges.

“We at CREDA NJ are committed to leading the charge in helping corporations understand the benefits of operating their businesses here in New Jersey,” Dan Kennedy, CEO of CREDA NJ, said. “Andrew and Peter have been engaging in meaningful conversations on what they’re seeing in the market and bringing that discussion to our members through this event was imperative. CREDA NJ is proud to take these issues to Trenton and advocate for the commercial real estate industry.”

As a premier state chapter representing over 850 commercial real estate developers, owners, and investors across all asset classes, CREDA NJ continues to position itself as a vital voice in state policy discussions. By translating market trends into actionable advocacy, the organization aims to ensure that lawmakers and business leaders work collaboratively to keep capital, employment, and vibrant commercial spaces rooted in New Jersey.
