The Hoboken Business Alliance has started a $100,000 grant program to help local businesses enhance their storefronts and invest in other public-facing improvements.
The Storefront Improvement Grant program will provide direct funding that businesses can use for new signage, façade improvements, outdoor seating, landscaping and other storefront upgrades.
“Storefronts are the first thing people notice when walking down the street and curb appeal is a major factor in determining if people decide to come inside,” said James Runkle, board president for the Hoboken Business Alliance. “The Storefront Improvement Grant program will help local businesses create a more inviting environment for everyone, and we look forward to putting these resources to work for Hoboken.”
Grants are first come, first served until the annual pool is exhausted. Approved applications can receive a grant for up to 50% of the project cost, up to $10,000. Additional information, including eligibility requirements and how to apply, can be found here.
The Hoboken Business Alliance is a Special Improvement District created by the Hoboken City Council. Since 2024, the alliance has provided $105,000 in support for local business events and $130,000 in recovery assistance to businesses affected by water main breaks.
