Drew D’Ercole, the director of care coordination for the Valley Hospital, recently received the Emerging Leader Award — Acute Care, from the N.J. Hospital Association.
D’Ercole was recognized for her many accomplishments at The Valley Hospital, including her pivotal role in the hospital’s successful move to Paramus in April.
She additionally helped with the establishment of the hospital’s admission unit, which helps staff efficiently move patients from the emergency department to the appropriate inpatient unit, as well as efforts to reduce the patient’s length of stay and maximize care.
D’Ercole said she was honored to be recognized.
“This recognition is a reflection of The Valley Hospital’s commitment to professional development and its culture of innovation,” she said. “I am deeply grateful for the support, guidance, and mentorship I’ve received from my leadership team throughout my career at Valley. Thank you to my colleagues for your collaboration, dedication to process improvement, and unwavering focus on delivering high-quality care to our patients.”
According to NJHA, the Emerging Leader Award recognizes newer health care professionals – who have less than five years of management experience – who demonstrate outstanding knowledge and commitment.
NJHA is a not-for-profit organization committed to delivering support to New Jersey hospitals, health systems, and healthcare clinicians.
The recognition came at NJHA’s annual “Best at the Beach” celebration.
