El Asadero Mexican Grill now open in Secaucus

Family-owned Mexican grill brings flame, flavor, and culture

El Asadero Mexican Grill is now open in Secaucus. Founded by the Delgado Brothers, the family-owned brand has grown from a neighborhood favorite in Passaic (2012) to a culinary force with locations in Rochelle Park (2019), Fort Lee (2023) and now, an exciting new flagship in Secaucus.

Located at 875 State Rd 3 E, the new restaurant is designed to immerse guests in the warmth and vibrancy of Mexico. From handcrafted wooden chairs to artisanal tiles and pottery, every design element was imported directly from Mexico, fusing rustic tradition with a modern sensibility.

At El Asadero, everything starts with the grill—from the Tomahawk Ribeye to the signature Asadero Molcajete, a bubbling volcanic stone bowl overflowing with steak, grilled ribs, shrimp, cheese, and vegetables. The smoke, the char, the sear—it’s not just a cooking method, it’s a performance.

Chef-driven dishes are prepared with high-quality meats, house marinades, and fire-grilled precision. Every element is touched by fire—infusing the menu with soul, smoke, and celebration.

Signature dishes from the grill include:

  • La Tampiqueña – Skirt steak with enchilada sauce, beans, rice, and tortillas

  • Asadero Molcajete – Steak, ribs, shrimp & chorizo, sizzling in house chorizo sauce
  • Cowboy Steak – 16 oz ribeye served with mashed potatoes and broccoli
  • Surf & Turf – Lobster tail + skirt steak with clarified lemon butter
  • Birria Tacos – Shredded beef in chili-rich consommé with fresh cilantro, onion, and lime

At the helm of El Asadero’s culinary program is Executive Chef Gonzalo Colin, a Mexico City native whose resume spans elite kitchens—including Chanterelle, Robert Restaurant, and Indigo. Known for fusing refinement with rustic tradition, Colin views every dish as a tribute to memory and flavor. Now leading all three El Asadero kitchens, Colin brings his signature style—equal parts art, instinct, and heart—to every plate.

Founded by the Delgado Brothers—Jose, Bonifacio, Marco, Jaime and Hector, El Asadero was built on a simple idea: make great food, serve it with pride, and treat every guest like family. With each new location, the team has expanded not just their business, but their culinary vision—bringing butchered meats, handmade tortillas, fresh produce, and heartfelt service to communities across New Jersey.
