The New Jersey Policy Institute (NJPI) on Wednesday said George Boyan, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Unity Bank has joined its Board of Directors.
Boyan brings over two decades of financial services leadership experience, a strong commitment to public service, and a deep interest in the future of education in New Jersey.
As CFO of Unity Bank Boyan oversees all financial and accounting operations for The Clinton-based financial institution. His career includes senior roles at Bank Leumi USA, Goldman Sachs, and MetLife, where he demonstrated exceptional financial acumen and strategic leadership.
“George Boyan is a tremendous asset to our Board,” Rosemary Becchi, president and founder of NJPI said. “His financial expertise and understanding of New Jersey’s economic challenges will be invaluable. Equally important, George brings the perspective of a former local school board candidate who is deeply committed to expanding educational opportunity and improving outcomes for students across the state.”

Beyond his corporate career, Boyan previously worked for the late New Jersey Congresswoman Marge Roukema, supporting her work on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education & the Workforce and the House Financial Services Committee. His interest in education policy led him to run for his local school board, where he advocated for transparency, accountability, and student-focused reform.
