Englewood Health’s Cancer Center earns national academic recognition

Englewood Health’s Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center recently earned national recognition by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as an Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program.

This milestone as an ACAD program is a significant achievement — with only 13% of cancer programs nationwide receiving the designation.

To receive the ACAD designation, a cancer program must not only diagnose and treat a high volume of patients but also participate in postgraduate medical education and clinical research including enrolling eligible patients into trials.

Medical Director of The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center Cherif Boutros reflected on the honor.

“This designation reflects the depth and breadth of what we’ve built at Englewood Health—not just outstanding cancer care, but a thriving academic environment where we train future physicians and contribute to ongoing research,” he said.

The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center at Englewood Health offers a full spectrum of services, including advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, supportive care, and access to clinical trials.

Englewood Health CEO Warren Geller commended their efforts.

“This reclassification reflects the high standards we hold ourselves to as we continue to expand access to comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge cancer care in our community,” he said.
