New affordable housing community opens in Lacey Township

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in Lacey Township to celebrate the opening of Cornerstone at Lacey III. Developed by Walters, a Barnegat-based company, this new 70-unit apartment complex is the final phase of an income-restricted housing community in Ocean County. The complex is designed to be a companion property to the existing Cornerstone at Lacey I and II.

Joe Del Duca, Walters’ partner and director of Affordable Housing, stated that the company is “proud to deliver quality, affordable housing that meets the needs of residents from a range of income levels.” He also believes the final phase will “continue to bring lasting benefits to Lacey for many years.”

The apartments in Cornerstone at Lacey III are available to residents earning 60% or less of the area’s median income, with rental rates determined by the renter’s gross annual income. The complex offers two- and three-bedroom units with private entrances.

Aiming for LEED® and ENERGY STAR® certification, the new building was designed and constructed to promote healthier living with lower utility bills, better air quality, and a smaller environmental footprint.

Residents of Cornerstone at Lacey III can enjoy a variety of amenities, including a new community clubhouse with computer workstations and a fitness center. The property also features a tot lot for children, a barbecue and picnic area, and a half-court basketball court. A social services coordinator is available to residents upon request.

The community’s location provides convenient access to the Garden State Parkway, local schools, supermarkets, restaurants, and medical facilities.
