Schenck Price adds new associate Shawn Powers to expand construction and litigation practice

Florham Park-based Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP announced the addition of Shawn Powers as an associate to its Construction Law and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. This new hire is part of the firm’s ongoing expansion, strengthening its legal services in New Jersey.

Powers brings a unique and pragmatic perspective to his legal practice, drawing from a background that includes working in commercial construction with his father. He has a focus on a variety of legal areas, including construction law, commercial litigation, corporate and business insurance defense and land use and redevelopment.

John Ursin, managing Partner of Schenck Price, praised Powers’ addition to the firm. “Shawn is a great addition to the firm,” he said. “He is continuing to develop his skills as a young litigator, but his skill set in client relations is already advanced.” Ursin also noted Powers’ “sincere and deep commitment to give back to his community.”

Powers received his bachelor’s degree in business law from Florida Atlantic University and his J.D. from the University of Miami. Before and during law school, he gained valuable legal experience as a paralegal and a law clerk at prominent firms in Florida and New Jersey. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Morris County Bar Association.
