New state-of-the-art ambulatory care center opens in Old Bridge

RWJBarnabas Health and partner Rendina Healthcare Real Estate are celebrating the grand opening of a major new medical facility, RWJBarnabas Health at Old Bridge. The new 71,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art ambulatory care center, located at 1980 Route 9, officially opened its doors to patients on Sept. 29, following a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Sept. 22.

The facility significantly expands access to a broad spectrum of medical services for residents in Old Bridge and surrounding New Jersey communities, delivering a comprehensive “care closer to home” model.

Comprehensive services under one roof

The new center is designed to simplify the patient experience by consolidating various services in a single location. Currently, the facility houses clinics for a wide range of primary and specialty care, including:

  • Heart and Vascular
  • Digestive Health
  • General Surgery
  • Endocrinology
  • Sports Medicine
  • Neurology and Neurosurgery

It also features Family First Urgent Care, offering convenient walk-in services seven days a week for acute, non-life-threatening conditions.

Additional services are slated to launch soon, including Oncology/Hematology and Infusion in collaboration with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rheumatology, New Jersey Imaging Network, JAG Physical Therapy, LabCorp, and the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes.

A decade-long partnership

The ribbon-cutting event featured remarks from key leaders, including Mark Manigan, president & CEO of RWJBarnabas Health, and Dr. Richard Mojares, CEO & CMO of Family First Urgent Care. Local leaders such as Senator Owen Henry and Mayor Debbie Walker of Old Bridge were also in attendance.

“This opening reflects our shared commitment to bring more care, closer to home,” Steve Barry, executive vice president, Facilities Management and Real Estate Development at RWJBarnabas Health said. He emphasized that combining primary care, specialty services, imaging, therapy, and urgent care in one location will both simplify the patient experience and raise the overall standard of care.

Richard Rendina, chairman & CEO of Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, echoed this sentiment, calling the facility more than just a building. “It is a purpose-built destination designed to make care more accessible, coordinated, and patient-centered for families in Old Bridge,” he stated. Rendina noted that the Old Bridge facility is the latest success in a partnership with RWJBarnabas Health that spans more than a decade.

For nearly four decades, Rendina Healthcare Real Estate has developed more than nine million square feet of healthcare facilities nationwide, consistently working with health systems to deliver smarter real estate solutions. This new center stands as a testament to their commitment to creating high-quality environments for caregivers to deliver exceptional patient care.
