Every successful contract begins with a single step.
For many small business owners, growth doesn’t happen because they lack talent or determination. It happens because they don’t always know where the opportunities are.
That’s exactly why the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, with support from the PSE&G-sponsored Clean Energy Jobs Program, created the Small Business Certification & Readiness Program. The free, bilingual training begins Sept. 9.
The program is designed to help business owners understand certification, procurement, bidding opportunities, and the systems that can open doors to government and corporate contracts. It’s built for a wide range of businesses — startups, microbusinesses, contractors, suppliers, consultants, or established companies looking to grow.
The training will cover:
- Navigating NJSTART and county procurement portals
- Understanding New Jersey MWBE (Minority/Women Business Enterprise) certification
- Procurement best practices
- Developing a strong capability statement
- Understanding PSE&G procurement opportunities
SHCCNJ officials said the program reflects its core mission.
“At SHCCNJ, our mission is to create pathways to economic growth and business success,” Chair Luis De La Hoz said. “This program reflects that commitment by helping entrepreneurs become more competitive, more visible, and more prepared for new opportunities.”
