The Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) announced two major executive appointments designed to strengthen membership, community engagement, and philanthropic support. Jenn Hollern has been named interim chief operating officer, while Leigh Anne Sauchelli, has been promoted to chief external affairs officer.
The leadership changes arrive as GSNNJ kicks off the 2026–27 membership year and builds momentum following the June opening of the Girl Scout DreamLab in Paramus—a modern, hands-on hub for leadership development and experiential learning.
In her new role, Hollern will guide organizational operations, membership strategies, and the overall member experience. Hollern brings more than a decade of high-level Girl Scouts leadership to the role, having previously served as the Deputy Chief Membership Officer for Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).
In her national capacity, Hollern managed a team of more than 80 staff members supporting roughly two million members nationwide, collaborating with over 100 local councils on modernization, digital transformation, and customer experience initiatives. Prior to her national tenure, she served as Vice President of Membership and Marketing for the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Policy Studies from Chatham University and a Master of Science in Technology and Design from Full Sail University.
Meanwhile, Sauchelli will spearhead GSNNJ’s fund development, corporate partnerships, and external relations strategy. She will also work closely with GSNNJ President and CEO Sandra Kenoff to lead Dream Big, the organization’s comprehensive campaign designed to fund its strategic priorities and expand opportunities for girls across northern New Jersey.
Since joining GSNNJ in 2022, Sauchelli has fundamentally transformed the council’s development framework. Her achievements include launching the GEM (Give Every Month) recurring donor program, securing the inaugural presenting sponsor for the annual Women of Achievement gala, and broadening foundation and corporate support. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University and maintains the professional Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.
“This is an important time for Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey as we strengthen how we operate, build partnerships and deliver on our mission,” Sandra Kenoff, president and CEO of GSNNJ said. “We are aligning around the goal of ensuring that more girls across northern New Jersey have access to the opportunities, relationships and experiences that develop them as leaders… Both Jenn and Leigh Anne bring the leadership and expertise to move this vision forward.”
Serving girls in grades K–12 across northern New Jersey, GSNNJ provides transformative programs in STEM, outdoor exploration, entrepreneurship, and life skills designed to build confidence and leadership capabilities.
