Global superstars to light up New York New Jersey Stadium for historic World Cup halftime show

Justin Bieber to join Madonna, Shakira and BTS

The world’s eyes will be on New Jersey this July 19 as the FIFA World Cup™ Final transforms the New York New Jersey Stadium into the stage for the most ambitious halftime show in history.

FIFA and Global Citizen announced on Thursday that pop icon Justin Bieber will join an already star-studded lineup as a co-headliner, performing alongside Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. This historic event marks the first-ever halftime show in FIFA World Cup history, blending world-class musical talent with a powerful message of global unity.

While the lineup features international legends, there is a proud local heartbeat at the center of the spectacle. The PS22 Chorus—the renowned group of 4th and 5th graders from a public elementary school in Staten Island—will take the stage alongside Coldplay.

The 11-minute performance, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will also feature Afro-pop sensation Burna Boy and acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, alongside appearances from the beloved Muppets of Sesame Street.

Beyond the music, the halftime show is dedicated to a significant cause: supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This initiative seeks to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football for children in underserved communities across the globe. With over $50 million already raised, the fund continues to grow through ongoing donations from every ticket sold to FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Justin Bieber said in a release. “I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

The event is being produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation and Done + Dusted. Organizers are using the global broadcast to push for further commitments from world leaders. A special pledging event is scheduled for July 16, where representatives from France, Spain, and Germany are expected to announce new contributions to the Education Fund.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the impact of the legacy the tournament aims to create. “As the world unites for the most significant football match in history… this groundbreaking spectacle will celebrate football, music and our shared values, ensuring a legacy that transcends the final whistle.”

For millions watching worldwide, the July 19th final will be a moment of cultural convergence, proving that football and music can serve as powerful tools for change.
