CoreSite launches NY3 Facility in Secaucus to power AI and finance

N.J.'s data center dominance grows

New Jersey’s position as a premier hub for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure has been significantly amplified with the completion of the NY3 data center by CoreSite, an American Tower company.

The purpose-built, 138,000+ square-foot facility is located in Secaucus, adjacent to CoreSite’s existing NY2 facility. This strategic positioning creates one of the most connected and scalable data center campuses on the Eastern Seaboard, further cementing New Jersey’s vital role in the New York metropolitan digital ecosystem.

The launch of NY3 expands CoreSite’s total New York market footprint to over 442,000 square feet, with the majority of that capacity concentrated in the high-density, low-latency environment of the Garden State.

Built for the future of AI and finance

The new Secaucus facility is designed to meet the escalating demands of next-generation workloads, particularly those related to Generative AI and high-density applications.

  • AI Optimization: NY3, along with the adjacent NY2, offers the capability to deploy advanced liquid cooling solutions, providing the enhanced thermal efficiency necessary to support the power-intensive demands of AI-driven computing.
  • Critical Connectivity: The campus offers direct cloud connection to AWS and allows customers to leverage CoreSite’s Open Cloud Exchange® (OCX) to access all major public cloud providers. This robust connectivity is cited as the top reason organizations choose colocation data centers for running AI applications.

Adam Post, SVP of Finance and Corporate Development at CoreSite, highlighted the strategic value of the New Jersey expansion.

“The launch of NY3 represents more than just added capacity; it’s a strategic investment in our customers’ future,” Post said. “NY3 delivers on that promise and will empower our customers in the New York market to innovate, connect and grow with confidence.”

New Jersey: The East Coast digital nexus

The Secaucus location is particularly vital for the global financial services sector, which relies on low-latency connectivity for high-density research and trading environments. The campus also serves numerous higher education institutions, as well as domestic and international carriers.

Organizations across the financial and technology sectors have already enabled new deployments at NY3, utilizing its ability to provide reliable, interconnected infrastructure for low-latency connectivity to financial exchanges and cloud-based platforms.

The state-of-the-art facility underscores New Jersey’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for massive data center development, driven by proximity to New York’s financial markets and the need for scalable, high-power environments to house the explosion of AI infrastructure. With NY3’s addition, CoreSite’s national footprint now includes 30 data centers across 11 strategic U.S. markets.
