Traditional soccer powers Brazil, France and Croatia will each play one of their opening-
round matches of the FIFA 2026 World Cup at Lincoln Financial Field, according to the
schedule released Saturday.
All three nations are ranked in the Top 10 of the current FIFA rankings, led by France
(No. 3) and followed by Brazil (No. 5) and Croatia (No. 10).
Brazil and France have combined for seven World Cup titles. And while Brazil, with five,
has more, France has been better late, winning it in 2018 and falling in the final in 2022.

Here’s a look at the schedule for what will be known as Philadelphia Stadium:
- June 14: Côte D’Ivoire vs. Ecuador, 7 p.m. (Group E)
- June 19: Brazil vs. Haiti, 9 p.m. (Group C)
- June 22: France vs. the winner of the Iraq, Bolivia, Suriname playoff, 5 p.m.
(Group I) - June 25: Curaçao vs. Côte D’Ivoire, 4 p.m. (Group E)
- June 27: Croatia vs. Ghana, 5 p.m. (Group L)
The Linc also will host a knockout-round matches – to be played July 4 at 5 p.m., the
250th anniversary of the U.S.
The World Cup, which was last held in the U.S. in 1994, figures to be unlike anything
the country has ever seen.
More tickets will go on sale on Dec. 11.
